This particular Toby Carvery is situated north of Cardiff centre near a petrol station, it is a bit out of the way, but I make my way here regularly to stuff myself full of the classic British roast dinner.

I adore roast dinners, absolutely love them. Now normally they are confined to a Sunday but hell, not at Toby Carvery, you can grab yourself a stomach stuffing roast dinner any day of the week, at any time. I personally don't know what could be better.

You can get a selection of meats or the vegetarian option and then you absolutely load it with as many vegetables as you possibly can, it's all part of the fun, the highest stack wins! They normally will have some cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and boiled potatoes, along with your green, orange and yellow veggies.

Whenever I go here, I get very excited, when I leave, I'm groaning and a moaning that I'll never eat again - there just aint no pleasing me.

Slowest ever service with clearly an incompetent kitchen manager. People queuing for a carvery defeats the whole object of a carvery which is supposed to be fast and efficient. My colleagues queued for 45 minutes with just one member of staff ha doing a line of 20 people! As one joint disappeared he made everyone wait instead of asking if people prefer to have the joints available! Madness! Finally after 45 mins another carver deigned to appear. Everyone complaining and one fella gave up and went next door to Tesco to get a sandwich. If I was the owner I would be looking at the kitchen staffs management style and organise things better. Appreciate that there was a member of staff off sick but reading other reviews suggests there needs to be a better organised system.
Only the waiting staff kept a positive tone despite the stress!

I like a good roast and I know that a lot of people out there who enjoy Toby Cavery. I like the idea of it but I find the food quite average really. My other half loves the place, mainly because he can have piles and piles of food and i'm quite happy to go along so I don't have to cook a roast myself.

There's nothing particularly wrong with it, I just don't like having to wait ages for a table and then stand in a queue to get my dinner- kinda reminds me of being back in school. I don;t know if other branches are always this busy so maybe i've just been unlucky when i've been here. It also annoys me that the car park is always full and I usually end up having to wait for someone to leave.

I do like the selection of food but there's nothing quite like freshly cooked, homemade food and this is bit too manufactured for me.

I will be going back, and it'll be pleasant enough. Cheap and Cheerful sounds about right.

If you enjoy lukewarm food, slow service, a very limited menu & don't ming queuing for ages to get to the food, this is for you. Only for hardcore Sunday lunch fans who like meat, vegetables & gravy no matter what day it is or what the temperature is like.

This is probably one of my favourite places to visit in the world. It's an all you can eat carvery place that does great roast dinners with all the trimmings. The general atmosphere of the place is great, as well, with cosy seating areas and friendly staff I love going to this Toby Carvery.
The food is really good quality, and it's cheap as well, there's often vouchers and deals on meals at this place so keep your eye out on the chance to save even more money on an ace meal. It might not be the poshest place, but for good, wholesome food at a cheap price, you can't get much better.
